California Passes Net Neutrality Bill

California State Senate and the State Assembly passed SB822 that would guarantee full and equal access to the internet.

This effort is part of a nationwide movement to combat government’s rollback of rules last year. Legislators in 30 states have introduced over 72 bills requiring internet service providers to ensure various net neutrality principles.

If Gov. Jerry Brown signs the bill, California would become the fourth state to create a net neutrality law since the federal rollback.
